  1. Cheteshwar Pujara Believes Results Will Be In India’s Favour In England Team India has been going through a purple patch in the longer format. They registered a convincing win over Australia last year while playing without a few of their key players, they successfully beat England at home as well. Notably, in Australia, it was the bench strength that helped India win. Image source by twitter In an interview with the Times of India, Cheteshwar Pujara admitted that this is India’s strongest ever bench as well. “The amount of talent in the Indian circuit is humongous. Be it our bowling or batting – we have the backup for the players. The Australia series earlier this year was an example. We had so many injuries, but the backup options did well for us to win the series. Everyone in this Indian team is hungry to do well and that’s the sign of a good side.” However, Pujara also said that India could win a Test series in England with this strong squad for the first time after 2007. His comments came as he believes this Indian Team has become an all-weather team and they can win in any given conditions. “For sure, we have the team to win in England. We have been doing well in overseas conditions recently. The confidence in the team is high. In every department of the game – our side has high-quality players and if we are able to execute our plans on the given day – the results will be in our favour against England.”

For this, the BCCI has announced a 20-member squad and 4 stand bys as well. Simultaneously, the second-string Indian Team will also participate in a limited-overs series against Sri Lanka where three ODIs and as many T20Is will be played. While the squad is yet to be announced by the BCCI, Rahul Dravid has appointed the coach of the team as well.
