1. Exam periods 3 exam periods - January = DONE : How did it go??? - June • register digitally for the June exams - August/September register digitally for the August/September exams

Compulsory exams of January = there were only three compulsory exams in January (information given in December through hubrussel.net and e-mail from Liesbet Hanssens, deferment form to Planning department at least 2 days before exam takes place) MIBEM • Macro-Economics • Business Research Methods • Statistics or Strategic management MIBEB • Macro-Economie • Onderzoeksmethoden • Accountancy
2. Compulsory exams of January = there were only three compulsory exams in January (information through hubrussel.net) MBA- Business Information Management • Business Intelligence Methods • Quantitative Methods • Advanced micro-economics, Culture and economies, Economics of innovation, Economics law capita selecta, Environmental economics, Public economics MBA- International Relations • Applied European Policy • International Management • Quantitative Methods • Cluster of electives (see above) MBA- International Business Management • International Management • Quantitative Methods • Cluster of electives (see above) If you postponed some exams in January: do not forget to register digitally ALSO for them for the June exams!!!
3. Exams: Pass/fail? • Passing a subject ? • Min. 10/20 (= credit ) • Only the courses < 10/20 2nd exam period • Obtaining a master degree? • If credits obtained for 60 units
Exam result for a course that consists of two parts • Weighted average of both parts ≥ 10/20 = “credit” for that course • 10/20 for one part? “transfer” • Example : Stat A (3 SU) and Stat B (4 SU) If : A = 8/20, B=11/20 : (8*3SU + 11*4SU) = 9.7/20 -> 10/20 (3+4)SU Credit for Stat (A+B)!!!
Exam result for a course that consists of two parts • If you have 7 or less for one part of the course, the total score will be that score • Example : Stat A (3 SU) and Stat B (4 SU) If : A= 6/20, B=15/20 Final score: 6/20: no credit in total for Stat!!! However: transfer for the B-part (15/20)
<10/20 2nd exam period • Register digitally for the 2nd exam period! • 2 chances to pass the course • Eg fail course in January • 2nd chance in August/September • Eg fail course in June • 2nd chance in August/September
<10/20 2nd exam period • Best result : You keep the best mark! (only within the same academic year) • Eg Macro-Economics • January: 9/20 • August/September: 6/20 => You keep the 9/20 • Also for parts of courses • January and June: Stat A = 8/20 and Stat B = 9/20 • August/September: A = 10/20 and B = 7/20 => Final result: A = 10/20 and B = 9/20
4. Tolerances • Only for minor insufficient marks (FX=8 or 9) not for 7 or less • Max. 10% of credits for the master degree (-exemptions) • 1/10 of 60 credits = 6 units tolerance => Exercise
Tolerances: example • Results : June Having passed all the subjects of the Standard Learning Path (eg. of MIBEM) minus the deficiencies • Deficiencies : • Business economics (3SU) 9/20 • Statistics (7SU) 8/20 • Strategic management (4SU) 9/20 • Global information management (3SU) 6/20 What course will the student be able to tolerate?

7. Re-registration • EEA students • may re-register for the same degree program • may re-register for the same course 2nd time in your year program: no problem 3rd time in your year program: CSE ≥ 50%: no problem CSE < 50%: you will be denied a third registration for one year! 4th time in your year program: you will be denied a fourth registration for five year! • Non-EEA students • may re-register for the same degree program if obtained at least 30 registered study units in a first registration + each subsequent re-registration will be denied if the amount of registered study units isn’t at least 30 x the amount of years for which you were subscribed • may re-register for the same course If you want to reregister for a course for the 3rd time after not having obtained an FX: you will be denied a subsequent registration!
