  2. What is the Líder Solidário Program? Is a business community program designed to help entrepreneurs. It is a counselling program for entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises, formal and informal, in the start-up stage and not yet in a position to participate in formal entrepreneurial consultancy or advice programs. Focused to help disadvantaged people, from 18 to 65 years old.

VISION To promote increased job and income creation through serving entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises excluded from the process of managerial qualification, with a view to the construction of a new platform for sustained social and economic development. • Beliefs and Values • Everyone can show solidarity and potentially be a volunteer • Social development can occur through the economic and financial development of society and consequently of businesses. • Sustained development is achieved through interaction between the economic and social systems.

  4. General Objectives To promote and strengthen business volunteering in Brazil; • To further the process of universalizing rights, duties and citizen participation; • To strengthen projects which promote organized volunteer work in Brazil, particularly in the the private sector.

Who the beneficiaries are: Entrepreneurs: Individuals with low income and a low level of education, starting up their own businesses - or in the process of -, and without access to business information and consultancy. Micro-enterprises: businesses which conform with the Federal criterion of annual revenue of SBE, in other words having annual revenues of R$120.000,00 or less < +- US$ 30k >(legislation). Communities with a low Index of Human Development

Who the Volunteer/Líder Solidário is: Any business community volunteer who knows that there exist businesses and entrepreneurs without access to information and knowledge, and who voluntarily makes available his/her knowledge and skills for the development of this sector. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

  8. Activities The principal activity is providing voluntary business counselling. To implement the program the following forms of service can be utilized:

  9. Main Activity: Corporate Counselling Aims at stimulating the participation of companies in the Program. The program is based on the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility where the firm is affiliated to the program and allows time to its functionaries for volunteering.

  10. Activity 1: Individual Counselling Takes the form of voluntary activity in advising a beneficiary on his/her specific area of development, within his/her business. Depending on the availability of the volunteer, he/she will be able to provide service to more than one beneficiary at the same time.

  11. Detail of Activity 1: Negócios da Juventude /YBI BRAZIL Aims offer partnership methodology for business voluntary action, to be implemented according to local iniciatives to promote youth business development. Ex. Junior Achievement, YBI Brazil, etc...

Activity2: Group Counselling Takes the form of the volunteer attending to a number of beneficiaries in a group, through a program of lectures, in which the volunteer makes his/her time available and the Program is responsible for publicity and for attracting beneficiaries, to be attended to at a specific place and time.

  13. Action 3: Counselling within SEBRAE programs Aims at attracting business volunteers to take part in specific SEBRAE programs. Each State will define which programs it will activate. For example, programs in the area of co-operativism, Lectures on Management, entrepreneurship, PRODER, etc...

Implementation Methodology • Support to SEBRAE experts and NGO managers • Conceptual Framework; • Manual of Modalities for Business Counselling; • Management Manuals of the NGO Líder Solidário and for managing volunteers; • Orientation Manual for the use of SEBRAE products; • Manual of Visual identity.
