    1. IAOP 2010 in Seoul CPC Case #1 Clinical history: A 19-year old Danish male was referred to a maxillofacial surgeon because of an intraoral soft tissue swelling, 3 x 3 cm, at the posterior part of the right mandible in the retromolar area. According to the patient it had persisted for three weeks, however the father thought that the swelling has been present for about 3 months. The swelling interfered with chewing and trismus had occurred. There were tooth impressions into the mucosa but the surface was not ulcerated. At extra-oral examination an enlarged lymph node was palpated below the right angle of the mandible. The patient reported no general symptoms, no systemic diseases nor daily drug intake but has an allergy towards penicillin. He had been smoking 20 cigarettes daily.
