  1. How Could A Personal Trainer Help Me? Having a PT instead of doing it yourself can be seen as getting a taxi rather than taking the bus. The taxi is focused on your destination whereas the bus takes a longer more circuitous routeto meet the needs of others, until eventually arriving at your destination. Working with me as your PT I can plan and deliver a direct route that works towards your goals. It takes away the guesswork so that you don’t waste time trying out workout videos that are too intense or not intense enough, or that end up being repetitive so that you lose your focus. Another aspect of having a PT that I find definitely helps clients progress is having the element of accountability. If you have made a booking you have made a commitment which is more likely to lead to you attending than a vague ‘I’ll go to the gym tonight’ or ‘I will do an exercise video in the morning’. Have you ever paid for a 12-month gym membership and stopped after a month or so? You made a financial commitment but not a personal one, and after a quick induction you were probably left on your own. This makes it easy for you to lose momentum and interest. Big gyms love this but I don’t! I want you to train because you see and feel the benefits.

  2. I would like to train but I have some health problems… As well as my personal training qualification I have undertaken additional training for people who may have a long-term medical condition, as I want to ensure that health isn’t a barrier to training safely and effectively. Any issues can be discussed during your initial consultation. This sounds great but I have never really trained before…. Not a problem! The sessions are planned to build your skills, confidence, and movement patterns based on where you are now. This is why it works well for complete newcomers as well as those who are more experienced. Is the focus of the training about losing weight? No. As a female personal trainer I am very aware of how weight loss and exercise are presented as being interconnected, particularly on social media, often in ways that I feel are not positive. There are so many reasons why training is good for you such as increased confidence, less aches and pains, feeling stronger, and having more energy. Some clients want additional nutrition guidance, some clients don’t. Some find moving the focus away from weight loss liberating, some like to add accountability.

  3. Whatever your goal is it is personal to you! I think I’m ready but I’m nervous…. Something that I am completely used to and fully understand! You might have concerns about ‘will it be too difficult’ or ‘I feel self-conscious that I am not very fit’. The sessions are designed for you and your ability. This applies whether you are in a 1:1 session or joining as part of my Small Group PT classes. As we are one of the few private gyms in Leicester it means you won’t be sharing the space with others unless you choose to join the group sessions. Ok, what next… Send a message or give me a call and book in for a free ‘see if it’s right for me’ session Kirsty, Personal Trainer Right Time Health Coaching Nelson Street, Leicester
