Branches of Government Checks and Balances
Pyramid Fold • Step 1: fold your sheet of construction paper into a TACO, forming a square. Cut off the leftover piece.
Step 2 • Fold the triangle in half. Unfold. Cut along any one of the lines ONLY to the MIDDLE!!
Step 3 • Label 3 consecutive (side by side) with the 3 branches, leaving the side to the left or to the right of the cut.
Step 4 • Glue the empty side under the side next to it. Staple a piece of ribbon to each side of your pyramid.
Step 5 • Pick up an oval shape. For each side, write the main “job” of that branch. One oval per branch. Staple each oval to the ribbon. • Pick up 3 triangles. On each triangle, list/write down the number of people in that branch. Staple each triangle to the ribbon. • Pick up the rectangles. On each rectangle, write down how that branch checks another branch. Staple all rectangles to the ribbon.
