  2. Proposal Convert 8.201 (Existing Staff Room) to a dedicated Staff Development Facility. Develop 9.207 (Vacant Cafeteria) into a Staff Lounge.

  3. PROJECT DRIVERS • Staff Development is a key priority for the University and currently there is no dedicated/specialized space to serve this need. • An opportunity exists to create an integrated staff lounge within a food & beverage precinct in Building 9.

Rationale for locating Staff Development in B 8 • The size of this space meets the requirements of a specialized staff development facility • Open plan layout makes conversion cost effective • The size of the existing staff lounge exceeds demand requirements (284m2 with seating for 100) – Inefficient use of space

  5. Rationale for locating Staff Lounge in B 9 Building 9 is a prime location for the staff lounge The size of the proposed space is fit for purpose Capitalizes on existing food & beverage infrastructure Opportunity to develop an integrated retreat / congregation space for ECU staff
