Data Validation • 4 wks inconsistencies, 4 wks edit specs. • CSBatch used with modifications with some TA. • Modified CSEntry for verification (Feb. 2008) • Manager for moving and recording batches. • Concurrently finalised tabulation plan. • Identified analytical report chapter authors. UN Regional Workshop on Census Data Processing: contemporary technologies for census data capture and editing, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 9-13 June 2008

  11. Problems • Inadequate vehicles for fieldwork. • Red tape in the recruitment exercise. • Pressure on coders e.g. 2122 coded as 4122. • New codes for chiefs • Changing of DD for collectives, e.g. Barracks… • Making Chief_ID as a PK given it can be null. • Jumbling of qstns during entry when verifying. • Changing of DD on edit specs to suit RETADUM. • Use of slash(/) and Crtl+(/) for keyers. UN Regional Workshop on Census Data Processing: contemporary technologies for census data capture and editing, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 9-13 June 2008

  12. Problems (contd.) • Doubling up as GIS/ DP manager. • Fixing of EAs post data capture. • Lack of skilled staff at professional level. • Use of temporal staff for key tasks. UN Regional Workshop on Census Data Processing: contemporary technologies for census data capture and editing, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 9-13 June 2008

  13. Solutions • CSPro modules e.g. Reformat, Sort etc. • inconsistencies, 4 wks edit specs. • CSBatch used with modifications with some TA. • Modified CSEntry for verification (Feb. 2008) • Manager for moving and recording batches. • Concurrently finalised tabulation plan. • Identified analytical report chapter authors.
