Gilb - SiBEAM The good, the bad and the ugly • The good • All ~12k comments have proposed resolutions • Vast majority are editorial or duplicates • ~3 k unique • The bad • There are still objections to a large number of the comments • The ugly • 40 MHz channels in 2.4 GHz band threatens unit • “Send it as is” creates roll-call vote hell

Gilb - SiBEAM Status of comments • At the beginning of the week • 3077 unique technical comments • 1863 approved and included • 624 resolution prepared • 590 resolution not completed • At the end of the week • All comments have written resolutions • ~200 without broad acceptance (yet)

Gilb - SiBEAM Obligatory inflammatory slide • TGn is an express train that is within sight of the station. • However, a train wreck is threatening • 40 MHz channels in 2.4 GHz • Large majority wants to forbid 40 MHz channels in 2.4 GHz band • Large majority has agreed to a compromise that “fix” current procedure for using 40 MHz channels in 2.4 GHz band • Large majority is happy with 40 MHz channels in current draft • None has 75% majority

  5. Dr. James P. K. Gilb - SiBEAM Only slightly inflammatory slide • At the end of the week, suggestion to send the draft “as-is” to letter ballot. • This led, of course, to roll call votes • Sufficient number of roll call votes delayed any action until the week expired.
