In Fitch’s article, he proposes a model of client controlled case information using general systems theory perspective. • In his model, he proposes a system of interactions between human service providers that is client controlled. • He uses Systems Theory to identify linkages between components of the system.

  3. His model appropriately applies Systems Theory by outlining that energy importation is needed for system survival. He states that use of IT, such as web based technology would make energy importation, feedback, and output transmission more efficient. • Placing the client in control of the services received promotes service delivery that suits the needs of clients, not providers.

  4. Possible improvements • His framework should incorporate a system that provides information to providers about the collaborative efforts of other providers. • Precludes duplication of services • Reduces opportunistic behavior • Helps system remain goal oriented
