  1. Richard Reinsdorf - Photographers - Tips For Increasing Income Most photographers enter the field because they love the work they do. The creative process is engaging and interesting. All the same these same people need to make a living. The photography industry is competitive. Many photographers are willing to work for very little. This article looks at ways a photographer can increase the bottom line. 1. Share a studio with another photographer. For many photography business owners, the rent or mortgage on a studio is one of their largest expenses. Another option is to go without a studio and rent one when a client insists on having one. 2. Use digital advertising and communication instead of print. This suggestion is particularly applicable when a photography business is low on clients and cash and rich on time (many new photography businesses will find themselves in this position). Digital marketing takes time. It takes time to perform SEO work by creating links back to the main page. It takes time to keep a blog updated or tag clients on Facebook. Each of these is an effective marketing strategy. Each of these takes a fair amount of time.

  2. 3. Provide proofing online. Most photographers already do this. However, there are still some holdouts who insist on making print proofs. Print proofs are relatively expensive to create and can be scanned in at high resolution. More than one client, once they have a high resolution scan will decide they don't need to buy anything more. 4. Create a collage for every photo shoot. Clients are paying a photographer for his creative talent and skill. By putting together a collage a client can see a recommended way in which to put their images together. These collages can be single prints or multiple prints. Providing a concept of multiple large prints side by side in a well designed way is one effective service a photographer can offer his client. After all, what a client is really buying is an emotional art for their wall, not just an individual print of themselves or their families. The photography industry is competitive. The above suggestions will help a photographer make a living as he spends time doing what he loves. The author, through photo journalism, provides a unique expressive perspective for weddings, seniors, events, proms and newborns.
