I am from my hermit crab he is so cool and I love him so much. I am from going trick-or-treating on Halloween nights. I am from going to my friend’s house on Sunday night. I am from going to the pet store and getting my hamster. I am from having a good time at my daddy’s house. I am from going to my brother’s house. I am from my sister who helps me with everything in my life and I love her sooooooo much. I am from my mom who makes the best cake in the world. 23. Where I am From… by Ms. Hoffmann I am from building impenetrable forts in my best friend’s backyard. I am from knowing I was in trouble when my dad peered over the edges of his glasses at me and I was only supposed to say “Yes sir” or “No sir”. I am from the infamous Darlington, SC Christmas parade with floats featuring every Lil’ Miss beauty pageant contest winner since 1902. I am from homemade peach ice cream in the summers and fire toasted marshmallows in the winters. I am from cornbread cooked in cast iron. I am from the cotton candy that stuck to my face and that creaky old Ferris wheel that always made me nervous at the little fair near our beach house in Cherry Grove. I am from the good, the bad, and the ugly, not to mention also the crazy, the quasi legal, and the “not right” also known as myfamily.
