Issues with Selling New Technology and Services to the Mass Customer:

  • Are we forcing customers to make a “revolutionary” and expensive purchase rather than an upgraded “evolutionary” purchase?
  • Do customers have “line-item” budgets that make room for new technology purchases? Or, are you going to have to piggyback a technology/service onto an existing offering?
  • Who controls the budgetary process in the home? Gentlemen, is making a purchase request to the wife like getting an appropriations bill through Congress?
  • How much disposable income is available to customers moving into a new home? This question is open for debate…
