You have 10 minutes to write. Use your time wisely. • If you answer all the questions and have nothing else to say, read over the prologue.

  3. Think-Pair-Share • Think- for 1 minute • Pair- for 2 minutes • Share with the rest of the class.

  4. Prologue • Take 15 minuets and read the prologue if you have not already. If you have, review the prologue. • If you feel confident in your knowledge of the prologue, work on other assignments or come talk to me about your grade. • We are going to take a quiz at the end of 15 minutes.

  5. Prologue Quiz • Who does Ethan live with? • Who tells our mysterious speaker about what happened after “the smash-up”? • How is Zeena described in this chapter? • How is Mattie described in this chapter? • Why doesn’t Mattie move? • BONUS (2 points) do you think that the characters in this novel got what they deserve? Why or why not?

  6. Form Your Groups for Level 3 • Get into groups of 3-4 (not more than 4). YOU WILL STAY IN THIS GROUP FOR THE WHOLE PROJECT! • Choose one of the questions to answer listed in the 60 point assignment in level 3. • Together, write a claim and begin making plans for how you are going to answer the question and present to the class. • By the end of today, I need a paper with all of you names written on it, the question you will be answering and your claim. • I also need any notes about your plan of action.
