  2. Brief summary of the book. This book is about how people of different skin color had no rights, which basically means slavery. This book takes place in the year 1935. It takes place in Mississippi. The Logan family had 400 acres of land. Back then many things were not like they are today . Blacks had almost no rights, although it was against the law to have slaves. This is the story of a brave girl who learns about racism.

  5. What is the main conflict in the story? • The main conflict in the story is that back when slavery was around many white fellows talked about people with other type of skin color. Now back then Mr. Granger own a lot of land but when War was happing the Logan family could afford some land they bought 400 acres of land. Mr. Granger was so angry at them that he was going to fight for his land. That way he’ll have more slaves to boss around.

  6. How am I going to tell you what happened? • Well I am going to break down the alphabet by giving information that is going to happen in the story.

  7. A-D • A- Avery’s. The Avery family was an African-American whom work as slaves. • B-Berry’s. The berry family got burned by the night riders because the nephews did something that upset the white fellows, so they took power into their hands. • C-Cassie. Cassie is one out of five children. She is the only girl child in the family. • D-David. David is the father of

  8. E-G • E-Easy read. By what I mean easy read that you could actually could understand what is going on in the story • F-Fascinating. This book is very fascinating because you find out how life wasn’t easy. In some parts you may feel mad, angry, or even cry because of the emotion going on. • G-Granger land. The Granger land was a huge land that no one could afford but luckily Mr. Granger slaves worked hard enough for him to keep up with the land.

  9. H-K • H- Mr. Harlan. He is also a land owner. And yes he is white. • I- Into this book. You will get interested once you have passed chapters 1. • J-Jeremy Simms. Jeremy is a white kid but not like all white kids whom are racist. Jeremy is willing to help out the Logan’s family. • K- Kable Wallace. He is a white store owner. The store he owns is the “Wallace Store.”

  10. L-O • L- Lillian Jean Simms. She is very racist. She is Jeremy's sister. • M- Mary (mama). Mary is the mother of the Logan children. • N-Never give up. By what I mean never give up is that the Logan family kept on trying there best to keep up with there land. • O-Occupation. Occupation in the Logan family was that around the month of crop picking their was no school. So the Logan children help out with house chores.

  11. Q-S • Q-Queen. The wannabe queen in the story is Lillian Jean. She is a wannabe queen because she thinks she is all that. • R-Reading. Reading this book you’ll feel sorry how they treated people with a different color skin than white. • S-Stacey. Stacey is a great role model in my point of view. He also now the consequences of the risk he takes.

  12. T-V • T-T.J. T.J is a bad influence he berated his culture. He then realize that he made a bad choies now he has to suffer the consequences. • U-Uncle Hammer. Uncle Hammer is papa’s older brother. He is a big help out in the family. But he has a really easy to attack temper. • V-Visit to strawberry. Cassie always wanted to go to strawberry. One day Cassie went but she regretted going because she thought it was fun. But she explore that it is not.

  13. W-Z • W-Wallace’s store. The Wallace’s store is the only store that many African-American famliy go there and buy many house food and supplies. • X-X-Rated. This book is not x-rated it’s for everyone no matter how old are you. • Y-Young. In the book everyone is young but in the movie everyone is old. • Z-Zigzag. This book is not like a zigzag when you are into it then it all gets solved. This is not a book like that.

  14. What would I recommend? • I would recommend the book better because it tells us the correct in order of events!!!!!! This is the book. This is the movie.
