Receive a Sales Tax Collection Allowance • Beginning January 1, 2014 • 1.5% of the tax due on the sales tax return, • not to exceed $70 for each reporting period • To receive the allowance • you must file and pay electronically and on time • No allowance is provided if: • You have a past due return or amount due on a sales tax, contractors’ excise tax, motor fuel tax, or 911 Surcharge account • You file or pay by paper • No allowance is provided for contractors’ excise tax returns.   17. Only the “Administrator” may add licenses to an EPath account. Only licenses with the same OWNER / EIN may be added to your EPath account. If you cannot add a license with the same owner, please call for help. • To Add a license to your account: • Select “Change Profile” on the Main Menu • Select “Add License” • Enter the requested information. • Click Add • If you have not reported tax for this business, • call 1-800-829-9188 to have the license added to your EPath Account. 3000-1000-ST 3000-2222-ST The administrator can see all licenses under the EPath account.   23. 3000-1000-ST Information is automatically saved. Click Calculate to calculate tax without changing pages. Next will calculate and go to the next page.

  24. Displays cities reported on your last return. If you do not owe tax to that city just leave it blank. You may remove a city, click the box to the right of the city and click Remove. Filing a Return – City Tax

  25. Add a new city by typing the name, using drop down list, or entering the first 3 digits of the city code. When you click add, the name and rates will be displayed. Filing a Return – City Tax

  26. If you owe Municipal Gross Receipts Tax, Check this Box. This will display the MGRT rate for each city. Filing a Return – City Tax

  28. If you owe tourism tax on a Special Jurisdiction, check the box to display the Special Jurisdictions. Filing a Return – Tourism, Other Taxes

  29. Review your return, if any numbers are incorrect, select the section to change from the side menu or use the back button to go back and correct. Filing a Return - Payments

  30. 3000-1000-ST Beginning January 1, 2014, you must file and pay timely by electronic means to receive the allowance. You may pay by ACH Debit or ACH Credit. Electronic Payment due date is the 2nd to last working day of the month following the reporting period. Filing a Return - Payments

  31. Save your bank account information to use for future payments or make a one time payment that does not save bank account information. Select your option using the drop down box. For current returns – the payment date will show the 2nd to last working day of the month. Note: This return is being filed late. For late returns, the payment date displays the next Friday or the 2nd to last working day of the month, whichever is first. Filing a Return - Payments

  33. If you cannot pay electronically; print and send the Payment Coupon with your check. Due date for payment by paper check is the 20th for monthly returns, the last day of the month for all others. January 2014 No collection allowance when payment is by check. Filing a Return - Payments

The file should only contain one sheet with no formulas. • It must contain the following column names on row 1: Name, Code, Taxable. • Name is optional if you only upload city tax data. • Code is optional if you only upload state tax data. • If reporting state tax the row name must be exact for Gross Sales, Use Taxable, and Non-Taxable Sales. • If reporting city tax, the 4 digit code must be listed for each city and city rate.   40. Wrong Numbers? Correct your file, go to File Template and upload again. Or go to that return section and enter the correct numbers. A new upload will replace previously uploaded and manually entered amounts. Filing a Return – Upload Return Data

  42. 3000-1000-ST Select the return to amend from the drop down list. If the return is not listed call 1-800-829-9188 for the proper forms. A return can be amended by Uploading the corrected data or manually entering the corrected figures. Enter the total receipts for that reporting period. EPath calculates the additional amount due or credit. Amending Return

  44. 3000-1000-ST • Amended returns resulting in a credit must include documentation to support the credit. • Include the contact name and phone number the Department can call with questions. • Examples of items to support the credit include, but are not limited to the following: • Credit memo issued to customer • Report used to determine new amounts and the report used to determine old amounts • Copy of exemption certificate and invoice • Credits may be a result of an overcharge to a customer. This overcharged tax must be refunded to the customer before the credit will be applied to your account. Additional documentation may be needed to prove the credit was refunded to your customer.   50. 3000-1000-ET Pending Payments can be changed or deleted. You may select the date payment will be pulled from your account using the Payment Date dropdown box. Available dates are most Fridays and the 2nd to last working day of the month. Payment for the current return is due the 2nd to last working day of the month.
