A note from me. Some else made this slide show on how to create a Power Point. It was very well done but is for Power Point 2003. Not 2007. So use what you can from this. I resaved it as a 2007 pptx . KS. PowerPoint: Starting & changing font. Click on “Click to add title”

  1. A note from me. Some else made this slide show on how to create a Power Point. It was very well done but is for Power Point 2003. Not 2007. So use what you can from this. I resaved it as a 2007 pptx. KS 35 slides

  2. PowerPoint: Starting & changing font • Click on “Click to add title” • Click on FORMAT • Click on FONT… • Select a Font • Select Bold • Click OK 35 slides

  3. Add Subtitle, Save it 1. Type: Our Time at School 2. Click in box that says “Click to Add Subtitle” 3. Type: By [your name] 4. Click outside the box so the fuzzy rectangle disappears. 5. Click on FILE 6. Click on SAVE 7. Click on triangle across from SAVE IN: 8. Find and click on your login name 9. Notice the name of the filename, then click SAVE 35 slides

  4. Select Animation Scheme for Title • Click Slide Show • Click Animation Schemes… • Pull the Slider Bar down • Click Neutron 35 slides

  5. Select a Slide Transition (a method to bring in the slide) • Click on Slide Show • Click on Slide Transition • Click on Checkerboard Down • Click on Slide Show • Click on View Show • Click the mouse until the show finishes (if the paperclip tutor appears you can get rid of it by clicking OK) 35 slides

  6. Make the slide automatically advance after 4 seconds • Uncheck On mouse click • Put a check in Automatically after • Click the up triangle until it says 00:04 4. Click Slide Show 5. Click View Show to see what you have done 6. Click the Diskette Icon to quickly save your work 35 slides

  7. Insert a new slide • Insert • New Slide • Pull down slider until you see.. • Click on the first one (which says “Title, Text, and Content”) 35 slides

  8. Type in Information • Click on “Click to add title” and type: Welcome to School in the Fall • Click on “Click to add text” and type…. (push enter at the end of each line and a new bullet will appear. ) 3. After typing the last line and pushing Enter, go to the next page for instructions. 35 slides

  9. Adding effects to the bulleted list • Slide Show • Custom Animation • Add Effect • Entrance • More Effects 6. Peek In 7. OK 35 slides

  10. Slide Transition & Speed • Slide Show • Slide Transition • Scroll down & select Fade Through Black • Speed=medium • Uncheck On Mouse Click • Check Automatically After • Select 4 seconds 35 slides

  11. Insert Clip Art • Click on small man’s face • In Search Text type: academic • Click Search • Click on the school bus • Click OK • Notice the circles around the bus indicate it has been selected, so let’s do something to it……. 35 slides

  12. Slide Show • Custom Animation • Add Effect • Entrance • More Effects • Scroll down to the bottom. • Light Speed • OK • Click PLAY to see how this slide animates 35 slides

  13. Add Animation to the Title • RIGHTclick on “Welcome to School in the Fall” • Custom Animation • Add Effect • Emphasis • Grow/Shrink Notice the numbers that give the order of animation. 35 slides

  14. Change Effects of an object already created • Click on the 6th custom animation • Click the triangle • Effect Options… • Sound=Breeze • Timing • Speed= .5 • OK 35 slides

  15. Click on Play • Notice a few problems: The Title is the last thing to animate – and – it doesn’t shrink back to size. 35 slides

  16. Changing order of animations 3. Click on the triangle 4. Start After Previous • Click on Welcome.. • Click Re-Order up arrow until Welcome moves to the beginning 5. Click on the triangle again. 6. Effect Options 7. Put check in Auto-Reverse 8. OK 35 slides

  17. Play Slide then Save it • Click Slide Show to see this slide at full size • Click to end the show • File • Save 35 slides

  18. Open Organization Chart Slide • Insert • New Slide • Pull the slider bar down to the bottom • Select “Title & Diagram or Organization Chart” 35 slides

  19. Select which type of Organizational Chart • Click on “Click to Add Title” and type: School Organizational Chart • Doubleclick here • Select rectangular chart • OK 35 slides

  20. Type in data • Click inside each box and type in the top line • Push Enter • Type in the second line • Click on the next box Mr. Frost - Principal Mr. Bauer - Assistant Principal Ms. Hopper - Secretary Ms. Sawyer - Counselor 35 slides

  21. Insert Subordinate Shape • Click on Mr. Bauer • Click on triangle across from Insert Shape • Subordinate 35 slides

  22. Fill in Subordinates & stretch the chart 1. In the box below Mr. Bauer type: Teachers 2. Click on triangle for Insert Shape 3. Subordinate 4. Click in the box below Teachers and Type: Students 5. Click & Drag corners to stretch the chart as large as possible to fit on the screen. 6. Click below the slide so the fuzzy border disappears. 35 slides

  23. Add transition and sound • Slide Show • Slide Transition • Random Bars Horizontal • Sound=Chime • Check “Loop until next sound” • Remove check “on mouse click” • Add check to “Automatically After” • For 8 seconds • Slide Show • View Show • Save it again 35 slides

  24. Add new Title & Chart slide • Insert • New Slide • Go down to the bottom & select Title & Chart 35 slides

  25. Add data to the chart • “Click to Add Title” & type: ASD’s Earned in the Fall • “Doubleclick to add chart” • Click on 2 & push the delete key • Click on 3 & push the delete key • Click in each cell and type in the information… • Exit out of the Datasheet • Click outside the fuzzy border to make it disappear. 35 slides

  26. Slide Transition properties • Slide Show • Slide Transition… • Select some transition • Speed = Slow • Sound = Applause • Uncheck “on mouse click” • Check “Automatically after” • For 8 seconds • Slide Show • View Show • Push ESC key at end of show • Save it again 35 slides

  27. Get a new BLANK slide • Insert • New Slide • Under “Content Layouts” click on the blank slide 35 slides

  28. Search and insert Clipart • Insert • Picture • Clip art…. • Type: frogs • Search 35 slides

  29. Put clipart on the screen • Click on any frog • When it appears on the main screen, click & drag it to the lower right corner. • RIGHTclick on the frog • Custom Animation 35 slides

  30. Animate the Clipart 1.Add Effect 2. Entrance 3. More Effects… 4. Pull Down to Exciting 5. Select Bounce 6. OK 7. Click away from the frog to remove the markers around it (Since the clipart is the first animated object, notice it has a 1 near it.) 35 slides

  31. Create a Text Box • Insert • Text Box • Move to the upper left of your page • When the upside-down † appears, click & Drag from the upper left to the right & a little lower. (When you let go a box will appear.) 35 slides

  32. Edit FONT properties • Format • Font • Type: tahoma • Font Style= Bold Italic • Size = 40 • Click on triangle for Color • More Colors… 35 slides

  33. Change Text Color • Click on a shade of Blue • OK • OK 35 slides

  34. Type in Text, set Slide Transition • Type: We get to play with animals in Science • Slide Show • Slide Transition • Select a Transition • Speed = slow • Uncheck “on mouse click” • Check “Automatically after” • Select 4 seconds • Slide Show • View Show • Escape to end it 12.   35. Create a Motion Path 3. Add Effect 4. Motion Paths 5. Draw Custom Path 6. Scribble 7. Move the pencil to the far left and have fun drawing a path from there to the center of the frog 8. Click on Slide Show 9. Let the instructor see it • RIGHTclick on the frog • Custom Animation 35 slides
