Our constitution • A not for profit organisation • With core funding from key stakeholders Torridge District Council & North Devon District Council • To deliver projects and initiatives that encourage and support business growth, improve quality of life and address social and economic inequalities.

LEADER 5 (2015 – 2020) Priority 1 Support to increase farm productivity Grants between £2,500 and £35,000 for businesses, maximum 40% Focus Locally - To support local farms to increase their efficiency, productivity and sustainability Focus Nationally • Projects to improve the overall performance and sustainability of an agricultural holding • Investments to support animal health and welfare improvements • Processing, marketing and/or development of agricultural products • Funding is NOT for costs for standard agricultural equipment & inputs, like animals & annual crops
LEADER 5 (2015 – 2020) • Priority 2: Support for micro & small enterprises and farm diversification. • Grants between £2,500 and £75,000 for • businesses, maximum 40% • Funding is for capital items and work that will • help the business to grow, increase turnover • And /or increase employment • Funding is NOT for like for like replacements/repairs, salaries and running costs, stock or standard equipment (e.g. computer) that a business would be expected to have already.
LEADER 5 (2015 – 2020) Priority 3 Support for rural tourism Grants from £2,500 Up to 80% -100% (dependent on status and benefits for the local tourist economy (100% exceptional circumstances) Local focus • To support the provisions and promotion of ‘active’ and ‘cultural’ tourism • To develop and promote the local food and drink offer • To help establish North Devon and Exmoor as a top choice UK holiday destination • Funding is NOT for holiday accommodation, salaries and running costs, tourism brown signs, or projects to meet statutory requirements.
LEADER 5 (2015 – 2020) Priority 4 Provision of rural services Grants from £2500 up to 100% (100% exceptional circumstances) Local focus • To increase connectedness of isolated rural communities • To facilitate and develop support services that create healthy, well supported, thriving rural communities • To share good practice between rural communities and develop the local rural economy • Funding is NOT for access to broadband, standard computer and mobile equipment; and costs for renewable heat and energy systems.
LEADER 5 (2015 – 2020) Priority 5 Support for cultural and heritage activity Grants from £2500 up to 100% (100% exceptional circumstances) Local focus • Encouraging increased visitor numbers to northern Devon by raising the profile of our locally-derived culture and heritage • Assisting local partnerships and communities to define, celebrate and market their own heritage and culture • Increasing the sustainability of culture and heritage organisations • Funding is NOT for access to broadband, standard computer and mobile equipment; items applicant already gets EU or national funding for; like for like replacements.
LEADER 5 (2015 – 2020) Priority 6 Support for increasing forestry productivity Grant: £2,500, maximum grant amount is £75,000 or 40%, whichever is the lower Local focus • To increase woodland management, productivity and resilience • Machinery and equipment to help the production, extraction, mobilising, • processing and marketing or timber and non-timber forest products; • Funding is NOT for Large scale or industrial processing undertaken by static machinery with an annual processing capacity that is more than 10,000m3; • Hand tools (including chain saws); • Investments in woodland creation or the management of woodland itself; • The preparation of woodland management plans;

Case study • West Stowford Barton Barn – Otter Pool Barn • Barn conversion - enabled the fitting out and equipping with disability aids and mobility considerations. • £30,289.52 – 0.2 jobs created
