Melbourne Foodie Culture • Melbourne has the highest number of cafes and restaurants per number of people than any other city in the world • Melbourne has more than 3,500 restaurants and serves up cuisines from more than 70 countries • On average, Melbourne imports 30 tonnes of coffee beans each day – enough to make 3 million daily cups – imports of coffee beans have increased 780% in the past 10 years. • Victoria is home to 21 different wine regions, more than 800 wineries, 600 cellar doors and some 30 craft breweries.
