  1. Membership Meeting Porto (14-15 November 2013)Some ConclusionsEd Simons, President of euroCRIS

  2. Conclusions • We (again) can look back to an interesting and successful meeting. • There is a great potential of expertise, experience and knowledge about RI available within the euroCRIS organization. • There are common issues concerning RI we are all being confronted/dealing with: • Research Data Management (storage, discovery, accessibility, re-use, preservation) • Evaluation, performance, benchmarking, impact. • Interoperability as a key aspect for (harvesting, harmonization, integration, ....) • For apporpriate solutions regarding the above optimal availabiliy, storage and handling of qualiy metadata is the key:

  3. Conclusions • Quality metadata • Correct • Up to date • Accurate • Unambiguous • Detailed (enough) • Reliable • Secure • Sustainable • Optimal storage and handling of metadata: the CERIF metadata model.

  4. Conclusions • Apart from the euroCRIS events (MM, conferences) we should explore and promote ways for exchange of expertise within the euroCRIS community, be it from euroCRIS to its members or directly between members. • Concrete ways to start this off could be: • For euroCRIS to organise a RI expert(ise) knowledge base • To set up a network of national euroCRIS contact points.

  5. Conclusions Member Meetings are also an outreach of euroCRIS towards countries: to get to know euroCRIS within these countries and communicatie the possible added value of euroCRIS for stakeholders in the Research Information Domain and invite them to join the euroCRIS Community. So we would very warmly welcome new members from Portugal.
