  2. To open the APIC simulation mode, select the Sim button

  3. Click Goto Airportto select the airport for simulation mode This is the Simulation Values box. Here you can simulate flying different locations and conditions.

  4. You may search by Airport ID, Airport Name, or City Name Enter the airport ID here Once you have found the airport you want, click OK

  5. Or change the heading by clicking anywhere on the heading tape The “Edit Value” dialogue box will then appear to change the values You can quickly change the simulated altitude and speed by simply clicking these boxes APIC will automatically start flying out of the selected airport

  6. You may also change your speed by using the “f” and “s” keys “f” for faster “s” for slower You can change your altitude in a similar way “u” for up “d” for down

  7. NOTE: You may need to deactivate sim autopilot to change your heading, if a simulated flight plan is active In sim mode you can change your heading using the left and right arrow keys All of APIC’s Standard features (terrain, flight plans, etc.) are available in sim mode

  8. When auto-zoom is enabled the range will be set to the distance to the horizon plus 10% of your current speed. The higher and faster you are traveling the greater the zoom range will be. The map range will also automatically zoom in as you approach the destination of a flight plan. You can toggle the auto and manual zoom by clicking on the white section of the range value indicator To adjust the zoom use the up and down arrow keys or the blue arrows on either side of the range value indicator
