  2. 復習：ピクニックに行こうね！ • グルップ（3－４人）を作って、やって見ましょう！ • ルール： • 英語を使わないでね！ • 単語が分からないとき、先生に聞いてください。

  3. 漢字の調べ方 Steps to looking up kanji • Determine what is the main radical. (usually the main radical is on the top or left side. You may find that it is a bit of trial and error before you find the kanji you are looking for.) • Count the number of strokes of the radical • Count the number of total strokes or just the remaining strokes depending on the dictionary you use. • Find a dictionary (either electronic or paper) and follow their instructions for looking up a kanji • Look up the kanji and see if you can find other words that use that kanji.

  7. 漢字ゲーム • Dominoes. Must match the kanji with its reading. Then verbally provide the definition.

  8. 新しい単語ゲーム • Deck of verbs and students pick out card. Must try to use verb in sentence.

  12. ～てくれる／あげる／もらう ～てくれる when somebody does something for us ～てあげる　for the sake of others or somebody does for someone else ～てもらう says that we get, persuade or arrange for somebody to do something for us (receive someone’s favor)

  13. ～てくれる／あげる／もらう くれました 去年、マリちゃんが新しいステレオを買って＿＿＿＿＿＿。 Last year, Mari bought (and gave) me a new stereo 母にチキンスープを作って＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿＿。 I want my mom to make me chicken soup. 彼にシャンパンを買って＿＿＿＿＿と思います。 I think I will buy and give champagne to my boyfriend. もらいたいです あげよう

  14. ～ていただけませんか ～ていただけませんか　　 (polite) ～てくれませんか。 ～てくれない？ (casual) Write the following in the form that is appropriate for the person indicated: お弁当を作る（おべんとうをつくる）

  15. ～といい • When you hope something will happen. • Short, present form + と　いいですね。いいんですが。 Translate the following to express what you hope for the person who says: あしたから旅行に行くんです。

  19. アクティビティ：～といい p. 8７ B をしてみて下さい。 例：You want to live in Japan. 日本に住みたいんですね。仕事があるといいんですが。

  20. ～時 Sentence A 時、 sentence B When A, B.Time reference main event Circle USNA/Japan in either future or past that fits what is described.

  21. ～時 Circle the correct verb in the brackets かぜを｛ひく、ひいた｝時、薬を飲む。 日本を旅行している時、病気になった。 ＝日本を旅行｛した、する｝時、病気になった。

  22. ～てすみませんでした • ～てindicates things you have done that you want to apologize for. ごめん is the casual form. Create sentences that apologize to the person indicated.

  23. アクティビティ：～時 • p. 89 Activity B ペアーでして見てください。 例：道に迷う／親切そうな人に道を聞く 道に迷ったとき、親切そうな人に道を聞きます。

  24. アクティビティ： ～てすみませんでした • p. 90-91 Activity B • Example: You came late to the class. (to your professor) 　　　遅くなってすみませんでした。

  25. 大変だ！無くしちゃった！Pair Work • You borrowed something (you decide what it is) from your partner last week. You were planning on returning it today but you somehow misplaced it. Create a conversation that you could perform in front of the class. (This is NOT meant to be a drill, so feel free to say and ask whatever you are able to.) It should be no longer than 2 minutes. It should include new vocabulary and as many of the following grammar points: ～てくれる／あげる／もらう ～ていただけませんか ～といい ～時 ～てすみませんでした

  26. Talk about an experience you had recently. p. 91 まとめの練習　Ａ 例： この間、一人で京都にお寺に行って、道に迷ったんです。その時、女の人に道を聞きました。その人はとても親切で、お寺につれて行ってくれました。そして、その人はほかのお寺も案内してくれました。とてもうれしかったです。
