  1. Objective: Students will identify characters of prime numbers, composite numbers, and perfect squares.

  2. We’re going to start with some vocabularies: A prime number can be divided evenly only by 1, or itself, and it must be a whole number greater than 1.A Composite Number is a number that is a multiple of at least two numbers other than itself and 1. It is the opposite of a prime number.A set is a collection of numbers. It is a “family” of numbers.A factor is a number you can multiply to get another number.A perfect square is a number that has an whole number square root.

  3. Let’s do an activity with prime numbers: The first four prime numbers are 2,3,5,7. What are the next four prime numbers? Can you think of any other prime numbers that are even numbers other than 2?

  4. A Composite Number is a number that is a multiple of at least two numbers other than itself and 1. It is the opposite of a prime number. Which of the following numbers are composite numbers? If you identify a composite number, I would like for you to give me the number’s factors. 4,7,11,12,13,14,16,17,18,19,22,24,25,26,27,29,30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37,41,42,43,44,45,46,48,49,50
