  1. Resume Writing: 15 Tips for a Perfect Resume!

  2. “The job search and resume writing process can be gruelling and frustrating. You can finish by paying attention to a few details that could make all the difference. It can be difficult to know where to begin if you haven't updated your resume in a long time.”So, here are 15 resume writing guidelines to assist you in landing a job:

  3. 1. Don't Try to Include Everything - Be as detailed as possible. Do not include everything you've accomplished. Include relevant abilities, experience, and accomplishments for the job application. • 2. Organize Your Resume in Reverse Chronological Order - Your resume should be organised in reverse chronological order. Highlight your best accomplishments in the top one-third of your CV. Begin with a career goal. • 3. Keep it Short - Make your material as concise as possible by reducing it to a single page. Wherever you want to expand on your talents and experience, include hyperlinks or links.

  4. 4. Make Your Formatting Stand Out - Keep the design simple. Use simple typefaces such as Ariel or Times New Roman. Choose a font size of 10 to 12 points. Maintain a uniform formatting style. • 5. Provide Your Contact Information — At the top of the page, include your email address and phone number, as well as your name. Your complete address is not required. • 6. Use bullet points - Make it simple for hiring managers to understand additional information by using bullet points. To give your resume a structured design, use bullet points instead of paragraphs and extensive words.

  5. 7. Emphasize Your Transferable Skills — If you don't have any relevant employment experience, emphasise volunteer activities, freelance tasks, or academic projects. • 8. Use Keywords – Use keywords or catchphrases that are relevant to the industry in which you want to work. This also aids you in navigating through Application Tracking Systems (ATS). • 9. Quantify Your Achievements - Fill in the blanks with statistics, facts, and figures. It's easier to remember your accomplishments if you quantify them.

  6. 10. Showcase Your Soft Abilities — Create bullet points that highlight your soft skills, such as "strong leader" or "top influencer." Don't just inform your boss about them. • 11. Educational Qualifications – List them in reverse chronological order as well. Remember to write the names of the institutes and the years they were established against them. Include awards and scholarships in your resume. • 12. List Professional Courses - To increase your chances of landing an interview, be sure to mention all of your professional development courses, including online and short ones.

  7. 13. Describe your technical abilities and passions — Make a list of any hobbies or extracurricular activities that are related to the job that you are applying for. You can divide and conquer. • 14. Fill Career Gaps with Volunteer Work - If you have a long gap between jobs, address it and fill it with volunteer work. If you are unable to do so, provide a reasonable explanation during your interview. • 15. Add the last touches — Check for typos, grammatical problems, and spelling errors when proofreading your resume.
