  1. You just have a few seconds to make an impression on a recruiter with your resume. As a result, the last thing you want to do is make a simple mistake. These typical errors will almost certainly result in your resume being tossed in the trash.

  2. It’s Too long Employers will only look at your resume for six seconds. Recruiters will have a harder time scanning your resume if it is too long. One to two pages is an appropriate length.

  3. Using inappropriate Email-ID In today's workplace, email is the primary method of communication, thus you have no excuse for not having an acceptable email account. Beyond a basic version of your name, such as "diva@..." or "babygirl@," don't utilise email addresses (perhaps leftovers from your grade-school days).

  4. Including your headshot You should never include a photo with your resume unless you're in a career where your appearance affects your ability to find work, such as acting or modelling. Including a photo raises your chances of being discriminated against, and the recruiter will spend much too much time looking at your photo rather than evaluating if your skills match the open post.

  5. Not adding a URL to your social profiles Instead of including a headshot with your CV, Augustine recommends including a link to your professional internet profiles. This will allow hiring managers to see how you seem after they've spent a reasonable amount of time reviewing your resume.

  6. Not inserting the relevant keywords Many firms employ some sort of screening process to find the best candidates, and if your resume doesn't include the correct keywords, you won't even be contacted by a hiring manager.
