  1. Know More About Corn Snakes Before Buying One Since corn snakes are non-venomous reptiles, they are widely preferred by snake lovers all over the world. Their distinctive heads and dark vertical bars on the lips makes them unique. Though it is not tough to find a company selling corn snakes, enhance your knowledge about them before buying one. Colour  Corn Snakes are often associated with rat snakes and known as red rat snakes because of their colour. Though reddish-orange or orange-brown snakes are more popular, they are capable of producing a wide range of colour variations with selective breeding.  Eating Habits Adult corn snakes feed on birds and mammals while juveniles eat lizards and frogs.   2. Body Structure Though corn snakes are slender, they can be as long as 18 to 44 inches. Since they don’t have legs, they use the scales covering their body to climb trees.
