  1. TreeSync: Family Tree Maker familytreemakersupport.us/family-tree-maker/treesync April 3, 2021 Family TreeSync By now you’ve probably heard about TreeSync. It is the latest innovative tool available in Family Tree Maker 2012, which provides you the power to sync one genealogy Maker tree and one online Ancestry tree. You’ll make changes to your tree anytime, anywhere with this. Maybe you’re at the library and you discover your grandma’s birth record. Record this information in your online linked tree using your laptop or mobile app; then once you get home, open genealogy Maker, click the Sync Now button, and your desktop tree is going to be updated with the new information. Or, add a bunch of family photos to your desktop tree, sync it, and friends and family everywhere the planet can see them in your online tree. Why Would I like A Online And A Desktop Tree If you simply have a web Ancestry tree or you’ve always used genealogy Maker, you’ll be wondering why you’d want both. Many of us enjoy online trees because they will update and edit their tree anywhere they need Internet access. And that they can invite friends and family to look at the tree, which makes sharing case history quick and straightforward. Others prefer desktop software because they will quickly build a tree without fear about Internet connections, refreshes, and upload times. and that they can create a spread of lovely charts and reports to assist with their research. With TreeSync, you’ll enjoy the simplest of both worlds. you will have the mobility of a web tree with the advanced features of a desktop software program. 1/4

  2. How Does TreeSync Work You can upload the tree to Ancestry by clicking on the Download and Link to the ancestor button in the Plan workspace when your principal tree is in Family Tree Maker. this may create a replacement linked online tree. If you’ve already uploaded this tree to Ancestry, you’ll now have two duplicate online trees; you’ll simply delete the old one. This may create a replacement linked desktop tree. Once the trees are linked together, you’ll access and edit them online or on your desktop. you’ll even use our Ancestry iPhone and iPad apps to update your tree. Am I able to download and sync my Ancestry tree to quite one computer’ you’ll download your Ancestry tree to any computer that has Pedigree Maker? Also Read: Making A Online Family Tree Using Lucid Chart However, you’ll only download and sync your tree to at least one computer even if you’ve got installed genealogy Maker 2012 on two computers. remember that you simply cannot synchronize a tree between two computers either. Am I able to exclude people once I upload my tree using TreeSync’? No, you would like to upload your entire tree if you want it to sync between genealogy Maker and Ancestry. However, only if you want to put your tree online and not sync it, you will upload a part of your tree to Ancestry. How long does it fancy upload and sync a tree’ the primary time you upload a tree to Ancestry.com it’s going to take a short time, especially if you’ve got tons of media items. The syncing process takes a lot less time after the initial upload, however, because only your changes are synchronized and not the entire tree. Due to different internet connection speeds and tree sizes, we cannot accurately estimate the length of your syncing time. What if I have already got a web tree and a genealogy Maker tree’ How do I link them together you can’t simply link the 2 trees together. You’d got to download your online tree and merge it together with your genealogy Maker tree. Remember: Please create a backup of your family tree before doing any major changes to your tree. By using the upload and link option you can easily re-upload a new tree back to ancestry.com. Are there parts of your tree that will not sync’ Although most tree content transfers easily, there are a couple of exceptions? For more information on potential differences between linked trees on Ancestry.com and genealogy Maker, please read this text. What About Privacy Whenever I mention online trees, I’m generally met with one concern. Privacy. Some people desire their tree maybe an add progress and are not able to be shared yet. Others have accumulated tons of tips that they do not want to share publicly. Fortunately, 2/4

  3. TreeSync provides with you many privacy options so you do not need to sacrifice security for mobility. Once you upload your tree to Ancestry, you’ll make your tree public, which suggests that other Ancestry subscribers can view your tree (except information about living individuals and personal notes), and your tree are going to be shown in search results on Ancestry.com. You’ll make your tree private, which suggests that limited information about individuals in your tree (name, birth year, birthplace) will appear in Ancestry search results, but nobody can check and view your tree content unless you invite. In addition, even in search indexes on Ancestor, you will want to exclude your tree from appearing. You’ll change your preference at any time, and as often as you wish. What If I Want Help I get a mistake message once I attempt to sync my desktop and online trees. Occasionally you’ll get a mistake message once you attempt to sync your linked trees. This message will occur when your Internet connection is interrupted when you synchronize the process. First, confirm your Internet access is enabled in genealogy Maker. Go to the File menu and choose to go browsing. If you’ve got a dial-up Internet connection, otherwise you have disabled your broadband connection, establish your Internet connection before you open genealogy Maker. Confirm you’re ready to get to other websites. I cannot edit my online Ancestry tree. What happened is what happened? It’ll be because the web tree is temporarily unavailable as desktop and online trees synchronized if you can’t edit the synced online tree. Please wait a couple of minutes and check out again. am I able to delete my tree if I decide I do not want it online’ Yes, you’ll delete your online tree at any time? remember that when it’s deleted or unlinked, it cannot be re-linked to your genealogy Maker tree.
