EOTC Goals Learning Intentions: • Provide students with opportunities for enjoyment, adventure and challenge. • Provide students with opportunities to enhance spiritual, physical and mental well being through uplifting experiences in a natural environment. • Develop students skills so that they can move with confidence and safety.

  3. Camp Info: Peter Snell Youth Village Peter Snell Youth Village offers 27 acres of gorgeous New Zealand bush and parkland, thriving with native bird life, just 20 minutes from Silverdale. It overlooks the stunning waters and islands of Mahurangi and accesses a secluded rocky shore and large sandy beach. There is two independentfacilities. Dearsly Cottage sleeps 32 and the Peter Snell building sleeps 88. It is fully catered by professional chefs, and has a separate meeting / recreational hall with PA, data projector and chairs. By combining the two facilities, they can cater for up to 120 people. Kids will be required to carry out camp duties while there. These include setting up for meals, serving and tidying up after meals. They will also be expected to keep rooms TIDY!

  5. Peter Snell Youth Village is situated on 27 acres of native bush and parkland with amazing sea and island views towards Waiwera and the Mahurangi. The beach track gives access to a rocky shore as well as a sandy beach for beach games and rocky shore walks.

  7. Parent Helpers Our parents and volunteers are crucial part to our camp success. Their role is to work alongside the teaching staff or with camp instructors; following the programme or activity. They will be based on the same activity for the day. They will be trained around the safety aspects and will be our ‘experts’. Teachers will be roaming to support these activities and relieve parents when needed. No alcohol, drugs or smoking is permitted. The expectation is that overnight parent helpers stay at the camp the whole time.

Gear List What to Bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, pyjamas, at least 3 changes of clothes, warm clothes for night activity, closed in shoes, togs and towels, toiletries, raincoat, insect repellent, sun-block, hat, plastic bag for wet gear. Please all bring some home baking to share. No nuts in baking please. What NOT to bring: electronic devices, phones, money, expensive clothes, lollies or other food. Health Leaders will be assigned to each camp. All medication is to be handed in at the start of camp. A "Medication Details Form" will be filled out. The medication will be administered as required by a camp adult, unless other arrangements have been made with the Health Leader e.g. inhalers to be carried by children.

  14. Sample Menu Please note: Grace is sung before each meal as this is a Christian facility.

  15. Student Safety Our behaviour management structure is the same at camp as it is at school and will be underpinned by the KERI values. If we have concerns with a child’s behaviour, comprising the safety of themselves or others around them, we may call parents to come and collect their child. If a child is feeling homesick we will encourage and comfort them onsite. We believe that this is a great opportunity to build students resilience, independence and social skills.
