On what social platform? • Choose 1-5 photos that you took this summer and bring them in-either on a thumb drive, or email them to yourself. 1st Assignment:

19. Loads of paperwork • Get to know each other • Interviews • Share photos • Classroom responsibilities • Make classroom rules and then posters • Make our classroom notebooks • Get used to each other WEEK #1 (this week)

20. Be here on time-attendance policy • No passes out of class the first or last 5 minutes of class. That also means you need to be back here after taking pics 5 mins before the bell. • NO CELL PHONES-EVER • Hoods down, ear buds out while I’m talking, presenting, or we’re watching a PPT or movie • Mature behavior-in and out of class • R-E-S-P-E-C-T • Communication My Expectations

21. ATTENDANCE POLICY • 4 points are available for each day we have class • All 4 points deducted for an absence. If it is unexcused, you can make it up during tutorial and get the points back • 2 points deducted for being less than 5 minutes late • 4 points deducted for over 5 minutes late • You loose a point if you don’t use class time well • You can loose all 4 points if you are disruptive and/or bother others who are trying to succeed

THIS IS YOUR CLASSROOM Each group will come up with a guideline they would like everyone in the class to follow Next, we will spend two days making the most incredible and creative posters EVER and post them around the class Bring in art supplies/photos to decorate your class notebook (next project)

28. BE Creative! • You can cut the poster to make it a new shape • You can add 3 dimensional objects • Paint, glitter, paper, crepe, lace, markers, glitter  • Make it the best you can! • The winners gets extra credit • Put your group member manes and period on the back POSTERS

29. CLASS NOTEBOOK This is how you will save and turn in all of your assignments Will be graded at the end of the semester Here are some examples Make it YOURS. Have fun! Be creative! Make sure it will hold up to loads of use

THENWHAT? • Our first project will be to make a camera out of a piece of cardboard • This is called a PINHOLE CAMERA • While making this, you will be taken into the darkroom and will learn about the chemicals • I will be taking photos of you for your photo passes. These must be worn at all times when out of class • We will also be making a PHOTOGRAM

32. When you are out on campus, please act in a mature, quiet, respectful manner. You must wear your i.d. badge at all times. Where can you go? Who is watching you? • If you are seen carrying the cameras and not with the strap around your neck, points will be taken off he assignment • DO NOT go to the vending machines during class • Do not just wander around the school while carrying a camera. If you abuse the freedom, it will be taken away from you and you will only be allowed out of class once a week. Possible referral. EXTRA STUFF

33. We will do some vocab and critique activities • I will introduce you to several famous photographers via slide shows • We will watch a few movies that showcase photographers as well as applications for the art ALONG THE WAY….

34. I am very available, so let me know if you thing you may have difficulties coming up • You must make up missed class time during tutorial or OCCASSIONALLY after school (by appointment only) • You will be assigned tutorial if you are missing more than two assignments TALK TO ME!!!!!

35. If you try to enjoy this class and get the most out of it, you will find it easy and fun at the same time! • Don’t put off any aspect of the assignments! There are limited facilities and everyone will need to share, so if you come to me saying” there were no cameras, enlargers, etc” I will say “I’m sorry, but you should have planned your time better, and your assignments will be counted as late” HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
