Advancing Open Standards for eGovernment: Leveraging SOA and Web Services

In the digital age, governments increasingly rely on online transactions like tax filing and benefits claims, which demand interoperability between national agencies and international partners. This panel discussion focuses on how open standards from OASIS and other organizations can enhance the implementation of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Web Services in public sector finance. Learn from experts including Mr. Reidar Nybo from the OECD, Mr. Xavier Fournier-Morel from SQLI Consulting, and Mr. Frank Steimke from Bremen's eGovernment Department about the essential role of standards in delivering efficient government services.

Often these transactions require interoperability across national agencies and even across countries, and this raises the need for the use of open standards from OASIS and other standards organizations. How can the use of SOA and Web Services in public sector finance help deliver these services and the required interoperability? Panelists • Mr. ReidarNybo, Administrator, OECD Centre for Tax Policy and Administration • Mr. Xavier Fournier-Morel, Technical Director, SQLI Consulting • Mr. Frank Steimke, eGovernment Department, Finance Senate, Bremen
