  3. eResearch Proposal Management • eResearch Proposal Management (eRPM) is being developed as a new web-based system to accommodate internal routing, review, and approval of funding proposals to external sponsors. • Federal Grants.gov proposals will be assembled, routed, and submitted directly in/from eRPM. In addition, award information, including PANs and PACs will be distributed and stored in the new system.

Phased Implementation Approach • Phase 1 – Routing, approval, and submission of proposals to external sponsors, including Grants.gov • Electronic Proposal Approval Form (ePAF) • Grants.gov Proposal Preparation • Routing and Approval • Proposal Submission • Grants.gov • Non-Grants.gov External Sponsors • Award Notification • Data Warehouse • Phase 2 – Internal system integration • Enhance functionality by integrating with existing systems, such as M-Pathways, eResearch Regulatory Management, PEERRS, and eSirius. • Phase 3 – Routing, approval, and submission of proposals to internal funding sources • Phase 4 – Budget development online tools

  9. eRPM Pilot Volunteers May 09 April 09 • 20-25 proposals • Variety of project types • Single/multiple investigator • Full spectrum of sponsors & submission scenarios • All 3 campuses • Pilot participants • PIs & their collaborators • Associated reviewers & approvers from all affected units • The actual units that participate will depend on having a proposal with submission deadline between late November and mid February. • The Research Administrator pilot volunteers and their Unit Liaisons will receive more information and training to prepare them for their roles in the pilot. When can I use eRPM?All Campus Release – March 2009 • All Campus Release – March 2009 • eRPM available to all investigators • Variety of training opportunities including: • Online course details how to complete new Proposal Approval Form (PAF) • Classroom courses for PI/Research Administrators & Reviewers. • Online help system embedded in the PAF • Training materials on the eResearch Web site • Research Unit Liaisons will be involved to help prepare for all campus release. • Campus can sign up for classroom training starting in January.
