  4. Mental health and social distancing: The pandemic has grown a sense of loneliness and isolating mentality in recent times, which affected our mental health and undermined confidence in daily life. Moreover, many of us have not met our relatives and loved ones for a long which causes a threat to our mental health.

  5. Relevance of Mental Health Awareness Week: Mental health awareness week provides us the opportunity to reach out to our family, friends, relatives, etc., to talk closely about their thoughts. We can openly talk about mental health and illness with them. We can also understand their thoughts about mental health awareness week through this conversation.

  6. Mental health issues in the world: After a survey by World Health Organization (WHO), it was reported that there has been an increase of 13 percent in mental disorders worldwide in the last decade. According to an estimation by WHO, about 7.5% of the total Indian population is suffering from any kind of mental illness. Moreover, the covid-19 pandemic has devastated the health sector, transportation, education, tourism, and, most importantly, mental health.

  7. The seriousness of Mental illness: Mental health awareness week has recorded positive outcomes, which helped the millions of people suffering from mental health issues. But unfortunately, in India, the second-highest cause of death is the suicide of the youth in the age group of 15 to 29 years. This alarming data make us realize the importance of mental health and awareness. Therefore, this is a problem to be taken very seriously.

  8. Mental health in relationships: Mental health plays a very crucial role in our relationships. An unstable mind is a major resistance for us to connect to our close ones. There is a close relation between mental well- being and physical health too.

  9. Effect of mental health on quality of life: A healthy mind takes an interest in every opportunity and lives life with the fullest enjoyment. On the other hand, an unhealthy mind causes one to lose interest in social interaction, hobbies, and the other things once enjoyed. Therefore, this type of issue may hamper our daily life as well as our internal peace.
