Journey of Zekria: An Aspiring Engineer from Afghanistan

Meet Zekria Mohamed Akbari, an 18-year-old student from Afghanistan, born in Pakistan. Standing 165cm tall with brown eyes and black hair, Zekria is passionate about reading, soccer, and footy. Currently enrolled at NWS P-12, he is pursuing his VCE with dreams of becoming a mechanical or civil engineer at RMIT. His interests include action and sci-fi movies, with favorites like "Rush Hour" and "The Lord of the Rings." A fan of R&B music, he enjoys playing FIFA 12 on PS3 and cherishes Islamic traditions, including Eid celebrations and the month of Ramadan.

  2. Favourite footy team Collingwood. • Favourite soccer team Real Madrid. • Played indoor soccer at Cranbourne indoor from (2008/2009-2010/2011) • Played cricket for Oakleigh Cricket club from (2003-2007)

Interests/hobbies • I like comedy, action, drama and Sci-Fi movies. • Some of the movies I like: Rush Hour 1,2 and 3, transformers, Ace Ventura, Anchorman, Step Up and more........ • Favourite books- The lord of the rings, the kite runner. • Play Fifa 12 on Ps3 sometimes. • Like R&B music • Favourite singer Akon

Religion, Tradition and Culture Dates • Islamic celebrations are- Eid ul-Fitr (celebrations occur after the month of fasting), Eid al-Adha (sacrifice a cow and give meat to the poor). • Gifts and money are given to children, wearing new clothes, family dinners. • Ramadan (month of fasting)- eat and drink before sunrise, then eat and drink after sunset.
