Louisiana Purchase The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United states and the colonists living there wanted to settle this new land. Thomas Jefferson bought the land from France for only $15,000,000!
Discoveries Lewis and Clark found many things when they went to the land that Thomas Jefferson bought from France. They discovered plants, animals, and many types of land. They hoped to discover a Northwest Passage.
The Northwest Passage Lewis and Clark hoped to find a Northwest Passage because it would make shipping items through-out the country much easier.
Napoleon Bonaparte Napoleon Bonaparte was the emperor of France at the time of the Louisiana Purchase. He was the one who sold the land for $15,000,000. He was eager to get rid of the land because he needed money because of the financial challenges in his country due to the war.
