Learning a non-Latin language like Chinese can be challenging, but creative activities such as a Chinese variation of Jeopardy and Pictionary can make it more engaging. These interactive games involve visual elements, group work, and flashcards to stimulate learning and make language acquisition easier and more natural.

Introduction • Learning a foreign language is often arduous, especially when it is not a Latin based language like Chinese. To combat these frustrations, a number of different creative activities can be used to help better understand a language in a more stimulating context. • Most of these activates have a distinctive visual element
Jeopardy! • The first of these activities is a variation on the decades old game-show Jeopardy! • Students pick categories and are asked questions in Chinese. They must answer the question with an appropriate response pertaining the question
Other Activities • Other activities include Pictionary (which is pictured on the next slide) • Several other activities are practiced in class to stimulate learning. These games often involve group work (interviewing each other) and the use of note/flash cards
Conclusion • Through the use of different games and hands on activities, learning a foreign language can come more easily and more naturally.
