President's Report • Bylaws changes will be presented to Board of Curators at upcoming meeting on Oct. 22/23 for approval • New P&T rules are still with UM legal • From IFC: • Budget: FY 10 ok (relatively speaking) because of stimulus package, FY 11 will get worse, but backlash of stimulus could still help. Nevertheless, there will probably be cuts. But biggest concern is FY 12 (and beyond?)

  3. President's Report • Compensation: In spite of precarious budget situation UM system still recognizes the need of making salaries competitive. BOC appears to be increasingly “sympathetic” Problem is how to finance e.g. average salary increase of 4% would cost $ M38, would require 8% tuition increase Differential tuition increase for 4 campuses is discussed
