  4. Reading Hot Spots Guide Shimen Cave Have you ever gone to “Shimen”, the most northern township of Taiwan? Its name means the stone gate and comes from the sea-eroded cave near the shore, Shimen Cave. Is it really a cave? The answer is not true. This stone arch is formed by tidal erosion before the land was pushed upward.

  5. It is an excellent spot to look out at the sea and watch the sunset. It is also the perfect place to enjoy the fun of looking for pretty rocks and shells along the shore. If you want to close to the sea and have one-day trip, Shimen Cave is the best choice for you. This place is not only great for sight-seeing but also for geography-learning.

  6. Travel Information THSR Taipei Station (or TRA Taipei Station) → Taipei MRT Danshui Station → Keelung Bus (bound for Keelung) to Shimen Cave stop
