Solving Exponents Objective: You will teach peers how to use exponents to represent multiplication of the same number using the Educreations on the iPad • Tap on the app on the iPad. • Tap “new lesson” at the top left hand corner of the screen. • With your finger or stylist, choose a color for your project. • Using your finger or stylist, start writing your lesson by completing a title page describing your lesson. • Tap the “rec” icon at the top right corner of the screen once. You will record yourself saying the title of the this lesson. • Tap the “rec” icon again when you are finished recording yourself. • Tap the arrow at the bottom right corner of the screen to move to the next slide. • Repeat steps 4 through 6 to continue recording your lesson. • When you have finished, tap the “done” icon at the top left corner of the screen. • Tap “save lesson” at the top left corner. • Type the title of the lesson and a small description and tap “next”. • It will ask you who you want to share this lesson with, tap “my students”. • Next tap “math” as the subject area. • Finally tap “save” CC.5.NBT.2 Explain patterns in the number of zeros of the product when multiplying a number by powers of 10, and explain patterns in the placement of the decimal point when a decimal is multiplied or divided by a power of 10.
