Supporting your schools to meet the new standards • Benchmark 1: A stable careers programme • Structure the careers programme, Quality in Careers, student feedback • Benchmark 2: Learning from career and labour market information • Up-to-date careers information and LMI, access to information at parents events, presentations and group sessions, newsletter inputs

Supporting your schools to meet the new standards • Benchmark 3: Addressing the needs of each student • Independent IAG, tailored action plans, specialist support for students who have SEND, motivational interviewing, tracking destinations • Benchmark 4: Linking curriculum learning to careers • Linking with STEM employers or other organisations to support school, using Careers Companion, NCS website etc, being aware of useful resources

Supporting your schools to meet the new standards • Benchmark 5: Encounters with employers and employees • School careers fairs, enrichment activities e.g. mock interviews, employer engagement events • Benchmark 6: Experiences of workplaces • Design and delivery of work experience programmes ( read CEC ‘What Works’ publication on Transition Programmes)

Supporting your schools to meet the new standards • Benchmark 7: Encounters with further and higher education • Up to date knowledge of FE and HE routes including Oxbridge where appropriate • Benchmark 8: Personal guidance • Impartial 1:1’s, Level 6 qualified staff, quality assured through matrix accreditation
