  1. Mother and Son I will start by reading a poem that I wrote for my Son Joseph but I will read the last verse in the end

  2. A mother’s prayer has been answered A little bundle of joy A precious little boy Sent down from heaven above To bring many precious thoughts and love To fill his mother’s heart with thanks

By The hand of God He nested in his mother’s womb Brought to life a tiny mystery from heaven A precious little boy That is full of life Never rests or sleeps Always happy and jolly A little boy that desperately wanted to grow so fast Always on the go Full of curiosity Couldn’t wait to read the next book Full of energy Many memories for a mother to treasure And store in her heart

Many hugs and kisses Lots of cuddles in her arm What else can a mother wish for than to see her son Growing strong and wise through time Strong in faith Strong in his personality Growing with a heart full of love for everyone To know what matters in life To see her son bloom in front of her own eyes To a wonderful godly man

  5. This is how the brain cells looks like at the child’s birth.

  6. Imagine that a child's brain is like a house that has just been built. The walls are up, the doors are hung. Then all the electrical wiring, switches, a fuse box are in the middle of the room. Will they work? Probably not. You first must string the wiring and hook up all of the connections. This is quite similar to the way our brains are formed. We are born with as many nerve cells but these cells have not yet established a pattern of wiring between them — they haven't made their connections.

  7. So from birth to the age of 7 years of age the child brain become like a construction site. We see in the picture by age 11 through 15 the brain get rid of extra connections “pruning” gradually making order out of a tangle wires and the remaining wires become more powerful, strong, and permanent.

  8. So what ever action you do good or bad it will have effect on the brain development. Ex. I have a child that his Mom was so worry about his safety in the time his trying to learn how to walk so she used to carry him and that effected his walking for a long time and also he did Gymnastic and Tyco Wando he still have some noticeable problem.

Facts….. • Most of the brain's cells are formed before birth • Most of the connections among cells are made during infancy and early childhood • Early experience and interaction with the environment are most critical in a child's brain development. • A 3-year-old toddler's brain is twice as active as an adult's brain. • learning language during early critical periods when learning is easiest for a child

  10. What children need most…. • loving care, lots of movement , repetitions, talking, singing, playing and reading are some of the key activities that build a child's brain.

  11. the best opportunity" exist when the brain is a kind of "super sponge," absorbing new information more easily than at other times

  13. the five senses help build the connections that guide brain development. • Early experiences have a decisive impact on the actual architecture of the brain. • Is anyone know what is five senses • Vision, hearing, smell, touch and taste absorb. For example: • • The scent of the mother's skin (smell) • • The father's voice (hearing) • • Seeing a face or brightly colored toy (vision) • • The feel of a hand gently (touch) • • Drinking milk (taste) • Also during that period the child will develop…. • The ability to interact with others • Learn Sharing • Learning empathy, happiness, hopefulness….

  14. Children are wonderful gift from God. There is nothing in this world more wonderful and exciting than being a parent and watching your own infant grow and blossom in front of your eyes and grow up to an adult

  15. Many parent have no time. They drop their children at day care early morning and pick them up very late. Then feed them and put them to bed This is why we can not depend solely on the school to educate our children and bring them up but home environment and school education must go hand in hand in order to have a successful life. Parent need to help their children become physically/ mentally/ emotionally healthy

  16. Maria Montessori Is anyone familiar with the Montessori Method?

Maria Montessori, born in 1870, was the first woman in Italy to receive a medical degree. • She developed the Montessori methods for the benefit of enhance the child potential to succeed not just academically, but emotionally and spiritually. Her message always ”follows the child". • I have been working as a Montessori teacher for 20 years during these years I have met with many children, Parents and every year I face with a unique child that needs many prayers and change of attitude on my part.

  18. What is the environment?

Characteristics of the prepared environment include: • Beauty, order, reality, simplicity and accessibility. • Children must be given freedom to work and move around within suitable guidelines that enable them to act as part of a social group. • Children should be provided with materials which help them to explore their world and enable them to develop essential cognitive skills. • Mixed age groups (e.g. three to six, six to nine, nine to twelve) encourage all children to develop their personalities socially and intellectually at their own pace.

Before talking about what practical ways you can do at home. • I have some slides and I would like to show you • And all the things I will talk about can be ably to the home environment in order for the child to have a successful experience • I will talk about • Rules- we post our roles and we remind the children when occasion arise • Both teacher agree on the roles and discipline methods before introduce them to the children (one mind) • Routine (sitting the schedule in the morning) • Charts and duties (sharing responsibilities) • Communication ( between to children or more) • Cooperation (helping a younger child- working together) • Take care of one’s self (snack time- bathroom needs- lunch time)- develop leadership skills and independence • Respect for the children as unique individual

  21. I am going to talk about the environment at home through exploring what we do in the classroom environment. In order to give you an idea about dealing with children at the home sitting.

  22. The three years span allow the children • Stay with the same teacher • The same setting • Have long relationship with their peers • Knowing the child ability and learning style • Encourage a strong sense of community • Encourage children to learn from each other

  23. Before we post our rules. My co-teacher and I we have to agree on the rules and the method which we will discipline the children

  24. Rules- we post our rules and we remind the children when occasion arise. example our work time is early morning. Everyone do his lesson and his work independently . So when the children forget their roles we remind them, but when they continue, we ring the bell and ask them to come to the line and we ask them about the rules and we send them back one by one to their work. Also if a problem arise we always deal with it as a group, we share our thoughts together and come up with a solution that everyone agree on.

  26. This child enjoying washing his own towel. There is many steps to follow in order for him to complete his task Children learn through direct experiences, stimulation, discovery

  27. Basic goals…. • Awaking the child spirit and imagination • Encourage the desire for independence and self-esteem • Help develop kindness and courtesy and self-discipline • Refine his motor skills

  28. Create the spirit of joyful learning/ Concentration and enjoyment comes hand in hand. motivation to try new skills and learn more about the surround

  29. All this activity aim is to use every muscles … • Refine his motor skills and eye hand coordination • preparation for writing, • organization skills • Teaching good skills for lifetime

  30. This child is mopping the floor and that is awaken here sense of responsibility, cooperation, and capability

  31. This another task of care of the environment and nature. Most of the classes has pets- fish, hamster…..

  32. Outdoor gardening is very inviting and rewarding

  33. Teaching cooperation, getting along with different age, taking turns to lead, older children take care of younger children

  34. Cooking is one of the children favorite activity, they learn many thing. Cooperation, patience, measurement, texture, names of tools/food items….

  35. All this activities Help their concentration. Perfect their motor skill Concentration and enjoyment comes hand in hand

  36. Make them proud of their achievement

  37. Routine • Routine (sitting the schedule in the morning) and prepare the children of what to expect music/ Spanish/ mandarin/ PE/ what type of the snack we have/ what is for lunch

  38. Responsibility

  39. I Prepare the snack in the morning and write the amount for each child to take. The children are responsible to wash their hand/ bring their own snack and water to the snack table/ and clean up

  40. Eating together encourage the children to try different Varity of food. I have parent surprise that their children eating vegetable and fruit at school. So do not neglect that at home.

  41. Drawing is a form of expression, through the drawing you can discover the child level of development. Through drawing children can re-present action, emotion, ideas or experiences and tell complex stories Drawing stimulates the brain to grow in the areas that learn how to observe.

  42. 2 years 4 years 6 years 3 years Scribbling and Circular movement is first movement the child make because it is most natural movement. Later symbols become more complex, reflecting child's observations on the world around him.

  43. This is our sensorial section. Teaching variation of things will teach dimension, problem solving, and develop their mathematic mind For example this girl needed to move back and forth 160 times to the shelf in order to finish her work cycle. Keep in mind how important is movement and repetition

  44. At home… It is advisable to find toys and books that enhance the child skills Children can use Legos/ blocks/ memory game/ sorting different texture of things such as swabs of material/ buttons/ coins/ leaves from the garden / tracing pallets…….

  45. Lately there are many parent paying attention to teach their children the important of helping other. This child asked friends to donate to her favorite charity rather than give her gifts for her ninth birthday. I have a child in my classroom and her twin sister decided to ask the children to bring for their birthday a new book for our school library.

  46. Outings are important for fresh air and discovery

  47. As we discussed before movement is very important for the brain activity

  48. Physical activity are important for young children allow growth of their large motor skills

  49. Making a friend and getting along with each other is accepted in our environment and developing communication skills one on one
