  3. Recent trends in the Tourism Industry • People have been taken shorter but more frequent trips • The most likely to travel are the baby boomers and higher educated • The higher a persons disposable income the more they travel

Changes in Travel • Travelers are taking more trips closer to home • On-Line reservations have been making trips more affordable • Many more travelers are booking their trips closer to when they are leaving • Low cost airlines have been more and more popular • The biggest cut in airline travel has been businesses travel

  12. How Tourism is doing after 9/11 • Most families drive to there destination before and after the 11th • Growing Supply – baby boomers traveling in record numbers • Traveling is becoming more and more affordable
