  2. Nordic ID Monitor –self monitoring system • BACKGROUND • There is new legislation for controlling food quality and demands for self monitoring have increased • Nordic ID’s system combines self monitoring to data collection devices. Different tasks in store operations can be made with same devices. • The system fullfills requirements of legislation and demands o standards: EN12830, EN13485, EN13486, EU 37/2005 • Nordic ID has specified the system in cooperation with European retailers and restaurant operators.

  3. Nordic ID Monitor – self monitoring system • PURPOSE • The system automatizes self monitoring routines and helps in loss prevention. • The system collects temperaturedata and information on sensory observations, archives data, produces reports and alarms of exceptions.

  4. Nordic ID Monitor – self monitoring system • SYSTEM COMPONENTS • Nordic ID hand held computer • Nordic ID Thermo – temperature sensor spike for periodical measurements • Wireless sensors and radio network for sensors • Sensors are wireless and battery operated • Radio base stations only need power • Network forms itself automatically, the user does not need to create connections one-by-one. • PC-application and database for data collection • PC-application as a user interface to the system • Hand held application as a user interface

  5. Nordic ID Monitor – self monitoring system • OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM • Wireless sensors are installed to location to be measured, they send temperature data to the database. • If the sensor is outside of the network, it logs data into itself; and transmits data to the database when in network range. • Hand held application can be used for monitoring temperatures everywhere, and the hand held alarms of exceptions. • The reports can be viewed and te system can be managed with PC application remotely. The viewing application can be installed to any PC, that has network connection to the database.

  6. Nordic ID Monitor – self monitoring system • BENEFITS • One hand held can be used for data collection (bar code, RFID) and self monitoring • Automatized temperature capture reduces unpleasant tasks and routines • Automatized temperature capture removes possibilities for human errors • Noticing exceptions rapidly combined with automatically generated alarms reduce amount of loss • Managing self monitoring and proofing the quality of self monitoring to authorities becomes easier • Accurate temperature data improves possibilities to prevent food quality problems
