  3. Uses for ADAREORG • Respond to changing requirements • Insert or delete fields anywhere, including PEs • Transform PEs and MUs into flat files • Perform field type conversions • Manipulate sub-fields • Make other changes using field-level user-exits

  4. Uses of ADAREORG • Creation of Test Databases • Select on subfield value • Insert constant values • Limit the number of output records • Tuning Aid • Remove defunct fields to save space and to avoid decompressing unused data • Reorder fields and PEs/MUs to speed ADABAS decompression

  6. ADAREORG Features • Available for download from the Treehouse website to facilitate fast transmission of new releases, upgrades, and zaps • Support for ADABAS V8.x and backwards compatibility with ADABAS V7.x, and V6.x

ADAREORG Features • Features supported: • 3/4 Byte ISNs, 4 Byte RABNs, 2 Byte FNRs, and 2 Byte DBIDs • Large alpha fields, up to 16K • 191 Periodic Group occurrences • F fields need not be fixed length (restricted to 2 or 4 bytes) • G fields need not be fixed length (either 4 or 8 bytes) • Super-DEs up to 20 fields • NC/NN field options have been added • Variable length fields (i.e., zero) • Additional field-level user-exit invocations per execution
