Purpose The purpose of the YK Delta Regional Resource Coordination Plan is to provide a structure so that organizations within the YK Delta can collaborate on planning, communication, information sharing and coordination of activities before, during and after emergencies occurring in the area.

  4. What does the committee do? Example: EmergencyDeclared • Initial meeting to discuss and assess disaster • Create a plan to address issues • Then we implement the plan • Monitor what is going on and hold daily meetings in Bethel and teleconference with communities • Determine resources needed and deploy • Assess and Debrief after the disaster

  6. How did we get organized? • We started in 2009 when Akiak flood happened. • In 2010-2013 we experienced more intense disasters. • In 2012 we drafted the YK Delta Regional Resource Coordination Committee Plan/Manual • This year, 2014 we drafted a MOU with all agencies

  11. What’s next? • Committee is working on finalizing the MOU • Committee is formulating a region-wide Disaster Plan and Manual • Working on the Western Alaska Emergency Response Center
