  2. Elk vs. Wilkins • This was a case that took place in Omaha, Nebraska. It involved an Indian who was born on the Indian reservation , and by nature called himself a US citizen. This however was not legal he was to validate his citizenship, but when Charles Wilkins had John Elk at the voting registration table he saw that it was not legal and pursued this in a courtly matter. John Elk was sided with 7 to 2 and by the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 Indians were made citizens when born in the US no matter where abouts of birthing.

  3. Tinker family vs. des Moines schools • This case involved a family that resided in Des Moines, Iowa. They were law abiding citizens that wore school uniforms, and followed the rules. This family one day, when the war was going on decided to wear black arm bands to support the troops in the war. The school district called this disruptive and then took the family to court to resolve the issue. The tinkers had not done anything but support the troops so the court sided with them but the fact that the bands did no harm or representing they were allowed and ok.
