Hope Blossoms: Support for IDP Children in Sri Lanka

Eagle Nest feels privileged to support the Educational Support Program in North of Sri Lanka for internally displaced children. With generous help from sponsors, old boys, old girls, and well-wishers, the program has been progressing satisfactorily towards its goal. This year, Sriram and Chrishanthan spent 14 days with these children at Kashorina Beach. Despite having fun, the children still mourn the loss of their parents. The IDP students have enjoyed watching movies at the Raja Theatre, an experience most had never had before. Evening classes are being held in four locations in the Vanni area at St. John’s Support Center - Thaneeruthu, Mullaitivu. The program includes exam-oriented classes, curricular-co-curricular trips, and provision of essential needs for needy children.

Eagle Nest is very privileged that the Educational Support Program in North of Srilanka initiated for the internally displaced children have so far been progressing satisfactorily towards its intended goal. This program would not have been possible, without the generous help from the sponsors, the Old Boys, Old Girls, and Well-wishers

  7. ST. JOHN’S SUPPORT CENTERSEvening classes are being held in 4 locations in the Vanni area. These classes would be complemented by the following measures:Conduct Exam oriented classes at SJC during vacations.Take SJC Teachers to organize special classes in other DistrictsOrganize Siramadana / Curricular-Co curricular Trips for SJC students to other Districts.Provision for essential needs to the needy children
