  1. A foodie's guide to Hong Kong

  2. City Hall Maxim’s Palace – Located at City Hall Low Block, Edinburgh Place, this charming eatery will take you back in time with its old-fashioned décor and ambience. This is one of the best places to eat in Hong Kong, especially if you are looking for dim sums. Other delicacies include shrimp dumplings (hargau), steamed spare ribs (paigwat) and steamed or baked pork buns (char siubao). Savour the moment as you are handed your order from an old-fashioned trolley.

  3. Yardbird– Located at Bridges Street, Sheung Wan, Yardbird is an uber-chic Japanese-style Yakitori bar and restaurant. If you are looking for some mouth-watering grilled chicken, look no further. Yardbird is one of the best places to eat in Hong Kong if you are looking for a Yakitori meal.

  4. Tim Ho Wan – Located at MongKok Kowloon, Tim Ho Wan needs no introduction. It is the least-expensive Michelin-starred restaurant in the world! Be warned; you can’t make a reservation at this place and given its reputation, there’s bound to be a long queue.

  5. Pure Veggie House – Vegetarians, do not despair. Located at Garden Road, Central, Pure Veggie House is one of the best places to eat in Hong Kong. The restaurant offers delightful vegetarian organic fare crafted from the restaurant’s own farm produce; there is no dairy, MSG or spices added. Do try the wild bamboo pith stew, it is really flavorful.

  6. The Pawn – Located at Wan Chai, The Pawn is renowned for its hugely innovative epicurean delights. Bring out your adventurous side when you visit this restaurant and try the pig’s trotters with sorrel and red wine egg or the confit salmon with vanilla tapioca. This is definitely one of the best places to eat in Hong Kong for those who love experimenting with food.

  7. Serge et le Phoque- Located at Wan Chai Road, this restaurant has a regularly changing menu. The casual chic décor can trick you in believing that the fare is too. You will be surprised that this place offers some rather interesting, imaginative and sophisticated cuisine such as a pea soup with a hen egg, topped with squid ink and smoked corn. This is one of the best places to eat in Hong Kong if you are looking for a delightful meal over a casual conversation.
