  2. No doubt about it; the industry has gone digital. And as traditional media options disappear, giving way to digital equivalents, so do our news and information sources. We can no longer trust magazines and other newspapers; at the time we receive them, the news contained therein is already out of date. • Therefore, as a good advertising professional, you should spend a small part of your day (or week, if you have very little free time) browsing excellent websites that contain a lot of information. Not just news sites, but also social media, content aggregators, and more. Here's a list of 15 websites that you should check out on a daily basis, either by bookmarking sites or following them on social media.

  3. 1: The Egotist Network • If you live in a major advertising city, there will be an Egotist for you. It all started with The Denver Egotist, but now it has branches in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, and even Dubai. This is a great resource for local and national news. Very few ad blogs do well on the local scene, this is the first of the bunch. It is also anonymous, which means that you get very strong opinions there.

  4. 2: Adfreak • For anyone in the industry, this is a great source of information. Updated daily, sometimes hourly, it will give you information on the latest campaigns, engines and agitators, new technologies and much more.

  5. 3: The Washington Insider Magazine • For the latest news and gossip, entertainment stories, videos, politics, and whatever else you can think of, The Washington Insider Magazine collects it all in one place. It's not as user-centric as Reddit, but it's still a reliable and constantly updated resource.
