  2. What was created under Alexander Hamilton’s Economic Program? • Bank of the United States • Gained Opposition because the Constitution didn’t mention any creation of a Federal Bank

  3. What is Strict Construction of the constitution? • Government shouldn’t do anything if it is NOT mentioned in the constitution. • Example: The creation of Alexander Hamilton’s Federal Bank

  4. What is Loose Construction of the constitution? • Government can go outside the Constitution • Stretch the power of the Government

  5. What was the Whiskey Rebellion? • Much like Shay’s Rebellion, farmers rebelled over taxes • However; unlike Shay’s Rebellion, the Constitution created a standing Army that suppressed the rebellion quickly

  6. Jay’s Treaty • Chief Justice John Jay • Traveled to England to encourage trade between the two nations
