  1. 5 Common Mistakes You Need To Avoid While Writing A Resume Your Resume will act as your profile to shortlist for you a face to face interview or a panel interview or it can even be discarded. Therefore it is very important to submit a good and a catchy resume. You need to avoid common mistakes in writing CV Resume. Let us see what they are in detail: 1) Don’t make it for pages: It is always the best to keep it short and sweet. Do not mention your details for pages, mention only what is important in a short and crisp but in a formal format. Writing it for pages will actually bore the recruiter. Add only relevant information. If some accomplishments are not relevant to this job then do not mention it. Only highlight important points which the employer is looking for. Follow this effective resume writing tip. 2) Avoid mentioning irrelevant work experience: If you are applying for a technical job then do not give any irrelevant experience like working in pizza hut for a part-time. This will save unnecessary wastage of time and energy. Your recruiters don't have much time to read each and every part of your resume. So just keep it short and jot down important points. Avoid most common resume writing mistakes like this. 3) Do not skip the objective: If you want to mention your objective as enhancing your professional career in a challenging environment by contributing good profit to the company. But this same objective found in every resume would make the recruiter feel bored. Your objective must be relevant to the job you are applying jobs and not any generalized goals. It would be better if you mention the company's name and write your objective. 4) Mention your relevant achievements in detail: As said earlier mention your achievements and accomplishments with respect to the job you are applying for and at the same time be specific simply do not mention that you have been helpful in so and so position to so and so company. It will sound vague. Mention what have you done, your contribution, time duration, which company, your achievement etc. Simply avoid this most common mistake in a resume. 5) Stick to the basics: It is good to use simple sentences than using complex words and flowery words. Use a proper official format like Times New Roman with legible font size. Avoid grammatical and spelling mistakes. Rather using a colored font you can use Bold and Italics to highlight important points. Do not mention salary expectation.
